A few seconds, and
the day sounds different.
One reflection, in your language with the Arabic beneath it. Then it lets you go.
Coming to the App Store and Google Play. 7 days free, then optional.
01
What you actually get.
“Everything you hold today was once a prayer not yet answered.”
«كل ما تملكه اليوم كان يومًا دعاءً لم يُستجب بعد.»
Written for Qatra, in our own words. Not verses. Not hadith. Every line is reviewed before it ships and attributed to no one, because putting a scholar’s name under a sentence we wrote would be the one unforgivable thing this app could do.
02
The Arabic and the meaning, in one breath.
Every line in your language, the Arabic underneath, set in a real naskh. Read in Arabic and you get the Arabic alone, at the larger size — the app never shows a translation to someone reading the original.
Three languages, one app.
Pick a language on the first screen and change it whenever you like. Reminders arrive in whichever one you chose.
03
Good things, spaced through your day.
Ten reminders a day, or one, or twenty. Inside the hours you choose — 09:00 to 21:00 to start with. Every slot is nudged by a few minutes, so they never arrive on the same mechanical beat.
A reminder you can actually live with.
The whole reflection is in the notification. Reading it on the lock screen and never opening the app is a perfectly good way to use this.

04
Reading you look forward to.
19 grounds to read on. 8 of them move: rain on glass, waves, forest, dunes. Or plain midnight, if the photograph is getting in the way of the sentence.

05
Opening your phone feels good.
A reflection on the lock screen and the home screen, renewed through the day. Six alternate app icons, if the gold does not suit your home screen.
Read it without opening anything.
The widget takes the theme you are already reading on, so the home screen and the app are the same surface rather than two designs that happen to share a name.
06
The week fills itself in.
Every day you read fills a circle. Seven circles, one week. Miss a day and the circle simply stays empty — no red marks, no broken-streak notification, no guilt engineered into a habit that is meant to be calming.
Everything you keep, in one place.
Favourites, collections, your own reflections and the full history of what you have read. Followed topics steer the feed, and you can change them any time from your profile.
07
Read in three languages.
Qatra is written for readers in English, French and Arabic — and the Arabic is set properly, not left to the system fallback.
It says one thing and then leaves me alone. That is the whole reason it is still on my phone.
I set it to three a day. No streak guilt, no badge, nothing shouting at me.
Honest about what it is. It never pretends a line is a verse, and I trust it more for that.
Le widget sur écran verrouillé. Je ne déverrouille même plus pour lire.
The rain-on-glass background with one sentence on it is the calmest thing on my phone.
No account, no email, no onboarding quiz I had to finish. It just opened and worked.
I write my own now and they sit alongside the rest. That was unexpected.
Aucune publicité, aucune notification qui culpabilise. C'est reposant.
Switched the icon to sand and it disappeared into my home screen. Small thing, but it matters.
Read it in English, my mother reads it in Arabic, same app, same line.
Sept cercles par semaine. Rien de plus. Ça suffit largement à me tenir.

09
Questions worth asking first.
Are these verses from the Qur’an or hadith?
No, and the app will never present them as such. Every reflection is written for Qatra in an Islamic register, reviewed before it is published, and attributed to no one. Where scripture belongs is in the sources that carry it properly.
Do I need an account?
Not to read. Language, onboarding and the whole free tier work without one. An account is only created when you subscribe, so your reading history and favourites can follow you to a new phone.
Can I use it without notifications?
Yes. Turn them off entirely and the app is just somewhere to read. Nothing is gated behind granting the permission.
What happens when the trial ends?
The app keeps working. You drop to 3 reminders a day, 6 backdrops and no sync — nothing is deleted and nothing is locked behind a paywall you cannot dismiss.
Is my reading tracked?
What you read and favourite is stored so the feed can stop repeating itself and the streak can count. It is never sold, never sent to an ad network, and there is no third-party analytics SDK in the app.
Which languages does it speak?
English, French and Arabic. Arabic is set underneath every reflection in all three, in a proper naskh face rather than the system fallback.
One drop a day. The vessel fills.
Qatra is finishing up. Leave us an address and we will send you a build before it reaches the stores.
