Telling us your device, your OS version and the app version — it is at the bottom of Settings — turns a three-message exchange into one.
02Reminders are not arriving
Work down this list; it is almost always one of the first three.
- Check notifications are allowed for Qatra in your phone's own Settings, not just in the app.
- Check the reminder window in the app. If it is set to 09:00–21:00 you will get nothing overnight, which is intended.
- Turn off battery optimisation for Qatra. On Android this is the single most common cause — the system stops the app being woken at all.
- On the free tier you get 3 a day, not 10.
- Open the app once. A device that has not checked in for a long time stops being scheduled.
Reminders are delivered by Apple and Google, and each slot is nudged by up to 7 minutes so they never arrive on a mechanical beat. A reminder landing a few minutes off its time is working as designed.
03Subscription and billing
I paid but Premium is not active
Open Profile → Settings → Restore purchases. That asks the store directly. If you are signed into a different Apple ID or Google account than the one that paid, switch to it first — subscriptions belong to the store account, not to the device.
How do I cancel?
In the App Store or Google Play, not in the app. The steps for both are on the Subscription Terms page.
I want a refund
Refunds are issued by the store that took the payment — we cannot refund a purchase we never processed. Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Google: Play → Account → Purchase history. Write to us anyway if something went wrong; we will help you make the case.
04Using the app
Change the language
Profile → Language. Reminders switch to the new language with the next one scheduled. Arabic is always shown beneath the reflection — unless you read in Arabic, in which case you get the Arabic alone, at the larger size.
Stop seeing a certain kind of reflection
Profile → Followed topics. Muting a topic stops it appearing in your feed and in your reminders. If it is still coming through after a day, write to us — that is a bug, not a preference.
Move to a new phone
With Premium, sign in and everything follows. On the free tier, favourites live on the device — sign-in exists precisely so they do not have to.
The widget is not updating
Widgets are refreshed by the operating system on its own schedule, which it slows down when the battery is low. Remove and re-add the widget to force it. Widgets need Premium.
05Reporting a reflection
If a reflection reads wrongly, is badly translated, or should not be in an Islamic app, report it: hold the reflection and choose Report, or write to us with the text.
A person reviews every report. Every reflection in Qatra is written for this app and is not scripture and not hadith — if one reads as though it were quoting either, that is exactly the kind of mistake we want to hear about, and we will pull it.
06Account and data
Delete my account
See Delete your account. It takes four taps in the app, or one email.
